The Seattle Pacific University (SPU) women’s basketball team had a big win over Westminster College on Saturday, January 18th. The final score was 73-56, with the Falcons dominating the game from start to finish.
The Falcons were led by senior guard Kayla Leland, who had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds. She was supported by freshman forward Jazmine Perkins, who had 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got a big boost from sophomore guard Sarah Toeaina, who scored 11 points and had five assists.
The Falcons started the game strong, taking an early lead and never looking back. They were able to maintain their lead throughout the game, thanks to their strong defense and efficient offense. They held Westminster to just 36 percent shooting from the field and forced them into 15 turnovers.
The Falcons also had a great performance from their bench, with freshman guard Katelyn Corrales scoring eight points and freshman guard Jazmine Perkins adding seven points. The team also got a big lift from senior forward Kayla Leland, who had nine rebounds and four assists.
The win was a big one for the Falcons, as it was their first win over Westminster in three years. It was also their third straight win overall, as they have now won four of their last five games.
The win was a great team effort from the Falcons, as they were able to get contributions from all of their players. They will look to continue their winning ways as they take on Pacific Lutheran University on Thursday, January 23rd.
