The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors had a successful outing at the Diamond Head Classic, defeating the Portland Pilots in a thrilling game. The Rainbow Warriors were led by senior forward Zigmund Silva, who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Silva was instrumental in the victory, as he was able to make his presence felt on both ends of the court. On offense, Silva was able to score from inside and out, making shots from all over the court. He also was able to get to the free throw line, where he went 8-for-8 from the charity stripe. On defense, Silva was able to grab 10 rebounds and block two shots, helping to keep the Pilots from getting easy baskets.
The Rainbow Warriors were able to take control of the game early and never looked back, leading by as many as 15 points in the first half. They were able to maintain their lead throughout the second half, despite a late surge by the Pilots. The Rainbow Warriors were able to hold on for a 76-71 victory, thanks in large part to Silva’s double-double performance.
The win was a big one for the Rainbow Warriors, as it was their first victory in the Diamond Head Classic since 2014. Silva’s double-double was also a big boost for the team, as it showed that he is capable of being a leader on both ends of the court. With Silva leading the way, the Rainbow Warriors look poised to have a successful season.
