The PGA Tour season is coming to a close, and one of the biggest storylines of the year is the pursuit of the FedEx Cup bonus and Player of the Year title by Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffler.
Schauffler, who is currently ranked third in the FedEx Cup standings, is in prime position to take home the $18 million bonus that comes with winning the FedEx Cup. He has had an impressive season, winning two tournaments and finishing in the top 10 in five others. He has also been consistent throughout the season, finishing in the top 25 in all but one event.
Schauffler is also in contention for the Player of the Year title. He currently sits second in the rankings behind McIlroy, who has had a stellar year with four wins and 11 top 10 finishes. But Schauffler is still in the running for the title, and if he can finish strong in the final two events of the season, he could overtake McIlroy and take home both the FedEx Cup bonus and Player of the Year title.
Schauffler will need to have a strong finish to the season if he wants to take home both titles. He will have to compete against some of the best players in the world, including McIlroy and Justin Thomas, who are both ranked ahead of him in the FedEx Cup standings. But if he can stay consistent and finish strong, Schauffler could be walking away with two major titles at the end of the season.
The PGA Tour season is quickly coming to a close, and Schauffler is in prime position to take home both the FedEx Cup bonus and Player of the Year title. It will be an exciting finish to the season as Schauffler looks to overtake McIlroy and take home both titles.
