The 2019 British Open at Royal Liverpool was a tournament to remember for Rahm, who shot a course record 63 on Saturday and moved into contention for the title.

The 23-year-old Spaniard, who is ranked No. 3 in the world, started his round with a birdie on the first hole and never looked back. He went on to make seven birdies and an eagle on the par-5 16th hole to finish with a 7-under-par 63. The 63 was the lowest round ever shot at Royal Liverpool, breaking the previous record of 64 set by Tiger Woods in 2006.

Rahm’s stellar round put him in a tie for fourth place, just four shots off the lead. He is now in prime position to challenge for the Claret Jug on Sunday.

The Spaniard has been in good form this season, having won the Irish Open and finished second at the PGA Championship earlier this year. He has also finished in the top 10 at five other tournaments, including the Masters and U.S. Open.

Rahm’s impressive round on Saturday has put him in a great position to challenge for the British Open title on Sunday. With his impressive form this season, it would not be a surprise to see Rahm take home the Claret Jug.
