The Dallas Cowboys continued their winning ways on Sunday, as they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 43-20. Quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott led the way for the Cowboys, with Prescott throwing for two touchdowns and Elliott rushing for two more.
The Cowboys got off to a hot start, with Prescott connecting with wide receiver Amari Cooper for a touchdown on the team’s first drive. The Cowboys then added three more touchdowns in the second quarter, with Prescott throwing a second touchdown pass to Cooper and Elliott scoring on a pair of runs. The Cowboys took a 28-13 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Cowboys defense stepped up and forced two turnovers. The first was a fumble recovery by safety Xavier Woods, and the second was an interception by cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, which he returned for a touchdown. This was the third pick-six of the season for the Cowboys defense, tying them for the most in the NFL.
The Rams were able to score a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late as the Cowboys held on for the victory. Prescott finished the game with 212 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Elliott rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns.
The win was the Cowboys’ sixth in a row and improved their record to 8-3 on the season. They now lead the NFC East by two games over the Philadelphia Eagles and are in prime position to make the playoffs. The Cowboys will look to continue their winning streak next week when they travel to face the Chicago Bears.
