In the second half, the Vikings pulled away, outscoring the Bruins 45-40. Portland State was led by guard Holland Woods, who scored 24 points and dished out seven assists. Forward Jamie Orme added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Vikings.
The Bruins were led by forward Ryan Lacey, who had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Austin Dyer added 19 points and seven assists for George Fox.
The win was a big one for the Vikings, as it improved their record to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in the Big Sky Conference. The loss dropped the Bruins to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
