The Oregon State Beavers kicked off their season in style, defeating the Linfield College Wildcats 82-46 in their season opener. The Beavers were led by freshman guard Ethan Pope, who scored 16 points in the victory.

Oregon State was dominant from the start, jumping out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. The Beavers shot an impressive 50% from the field and 44% from three-point range, while holding the Wildcats to just 28% shooting from the field and 21% from beyond the arc.

Pope was the star of the night for Oregon State, as he scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. He also added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the victory. His performance was a great sign for the Beavers, as they look to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this season.

The Beavers’ defense was also impressive, as they held the Wildcats to just 46 points on 28% shooting from the field. Oregon State forced 18 turnovers and blocked six shots in the win.

The Beavers will look to build on this impressive season-opening victory as they prepare for their next game against the University of Portland. If they can continue to play with the same intensity and efficiency they showed against Linfield, they could be a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA Tournament this season.
