On Saturday, the OL Reign and the Houston Dash faced off in a match that was sure to be an exciting one. The Reign, who are currently in the middle of a road trip, were shorthanded due to injuries and international call-ups. Despite the lack of depth, the Reign were determined to come away with a win.

The Reign started off strong, controlling possession and creating chances. However, the Dash had their own chances and were able to take advantage of them in the first half. The Dash scored two goals in the first half, one from Rachel Daly and one from Kristie Mewis.

The Reign regrouped at halftime and came out with a renewed energy in the second half. They were able to create more chances and eventually found the back of the net in the 73rd minute. Forward Jasmyne Spencer was able to get on the end of a cross from defender Steph Catley and put it past the Dash goalkeeper.

The Reign continued to press for an equalizer, but the Dash held on for a 2-1 victory. Despite the loss, the Reign can take solace in the fact that they were able to put up a fight against a shorthanded team.

The OL Reign will now continue their road trip with a match against the Chicago Red Stars on Wednesday. They will be looking to bounce back from this loss and come away with a win. With their depth issues, it will be a tough task, but one that they are capable of achieving.
