The Ohio State Buckeyes had a huge victory over the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, with a final score of 41-7. Despite having several key offensive players out due to injuries, the Buckeyes were still able to dominate the game.
Leading the way for Ohio State was freshman quarterback Kyle McCord. McCord stepped up in a big way in the absence of injured starter Justin Fields, completing 19 of his 24 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown, showing off his dual-threat capabilities.
The Buckeyes’ defense also played a big role in the win, holding Purdue to just seven points and forcing two turnovers. Linebacker Tuf Borland led the way with 11 tackles and a sack, while cornerback Cameron Brown added an interception.
Ohio State’s offensive line also deserves credit for their performance, as they kept McCord clean in the pocket and opened up holes for running back Trey Sermon, who rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Overall, it was a great team effort from the Buckeyes, who were able to overcome several key injuries to win convincingly. With McCord at the helm, Ohio State looks poised to make a deep run in the Big Ten and beyond this season.
