The Washington state high school football season has come to an end, and the Associated Press Washington State Poll of the Season has crowned two champions. O’Dea High School and Graham-Kapowsin High School have finished first and second in the final poll of the season.
O’Dea High School, located in Seattle, finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record. The Fighting Irish were led by quarterback Sam Huard, who threw for over 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns. Huard was also named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Washington state. The Fighting Irish defense was also dominant, allowing just 11 points per game.
Graham-Kapowsin High School, located in Graham, finished the season with a 9-1 record. The Eagles were led by quarterback Dylan Morris, who threw for over 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns. Morris was also named the Associated Press Player of the Year for Washington state. The Eagles defense was also strong, allowing just 13 points per game.
Both teams had impressive seasons and have earned their place atop the Associated Press Washington State Poll of the Season. O’Dea High School will look to continue their success next season, while Graham-Kapowsin High School will look to build on their success and make a run at the state championship.
