Nolan Arenado’s 10-Year Consecutive Gold Glove Streak at Third Base Comes to an End

MLB Seattle

Nolan Arenado’s impressive streak of 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards at third base has come to an end. The Colorado Rockies star was a finalist for the award this season, but was ultimately not selected.

Arenado’s streak began in 2013 when he won the first of his 10 Gold Gloves. He was the first third baseman in Major League Baseball history to win 10 consecutive Gold Gloves, and he was also the first player in the National League to do so since Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt.

During his streak, Arenado established himself as one of the best defensive players in the game. He led all third basemen in defensive runs saved (DRS) seven times, and his total of +150 DRS over the 10-year span is the most by any third baseman since 2013. He also had the most putouts (2,919) and assists (1,817) of any third baseman during that span.

While Arenado’s streak has come to an end, he still has a chance to add to his impressive resume. He is a free agent this offseason and could sign with a team that would give him a chance to start anew and potentially win more Gold Gloves in the future.

Regardless of what happens next, Arenado’s 10-year streak of Gold Glove Awards will go down as one of the greatest defensive accomplishments in MLB history. His consistency and excellence at third base have been remarkable, and he will be remembered as one of the best defensive players of his generation.
