The No. 20 Gonzaga Women’s Basketball team had a big win against the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday, February 8th. The Bulldogs pulled off an impressive 81-69 victory, with 27 points from Yvonne Ejim leading the way.
Ejim had a huge game, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and 7-for-9 from the free throw line. She also added six rebounds and four assists to her stat line. Ejim was the only player to score in double figures for Gonzaga, but the team was able to get contributions from all over the court.
The Bulldogs were able to take control of the game early, jumping out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter. They maintained their lead throughout the game, never letting Arizona get within single digits. Gonzaga was able to do this by playing strong defense and controlling the pace of the game.
The Bulldogs were able to hold off the Wildcats in the second half, thanks in large part to Ejim’s performance. She was able to score at will and also find her teammates for open shots. Her ability to create offense for Gonzaga was a big reason why they were able to come away with the win.
It was a great team effort from the Bulldogs, and Ejim’s 27 points were a huge part of it. She was able to take control of the game and lead Gonzaga to victory. It was a great win for the Bulldogs, and they will look to build on this momentum as they continue their season.
