No. 2 Purdue Defeats No. 4 Marquette to Win Maui Invitational Title, Led by Edey’s 28 Points and 15 Rebounds

The Purdue Boilermakers have done it again! On Wednesday, December 4th, the No. 2 ranked Purdue Boilermakers defeated the No. 4 ranked Marquette Golden Eagles to win the Maui Invitational title. The Boilermakers were led by Trevion Williams’ 28 points and 15 rebounds, while Eric Hunter Jr. added 18 points and Sasha Stefanovic chipped in with 12 points.

The Boilermakers started off strong, taking an early lead in the first half and never looking back. They were able to maintain their lead throughout the game, despite a late push by the Golden Eagles. The Boilermakers shot an impressive 51.9% from the field and 44.4% from three-point range, while Marquette shot just 40.7% from the field and 27.3% from three-point range.

The Boilermakers were able to out-rebound the Golden Eagles by a margin of 41-30, which was a key factor in their victory. Trevion Williams was a force on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds and helping Purdue dominate the glass. He also scored 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range. Eric Hunter Jr. also had a great game, scoring 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range.

The Maui Invitational title is the first for Purdue since 2011, and it is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
