The college football season is in full swing, and three of the top teams remain unbeaten. No. 17 Duke, No. 24 Kansas, and Kentucky have all started off the season with perfect records, and they are all considered “hoops” schools.
Duke is off to a great start this season, with a 5-0 record and a win over No. 16 Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils have been led by their defense, which ranks second in the nation in points allowed per game. Duke has also been getting strong performances from quarterback Quentin Harris and running back Deon Jackson.
Kansas is also off to a great start, with a 4-0 record and wins over No. 15 Oklahoma State and No. 18 TCU. The Jayhawks have been led by their offense, which ranks fourth in the nation in points per game. Quarterback Carter Stanley has been playing well, throwing for 1,092 yards and nine touchdowns so far this season.
Finally, Kentucky has started the season 4-0 with wins over No. 11 Florida and No. 25 Mississippi State. The Wildcats have been led by their defense, which ranks third in the nation in points allowed per game. Quarterback Terry Wilson has been playing well, throwing for 863 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season.
These three schools have all had great starts to the season, and they are all considered “hoops” schools. Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky are all known for their basketball programs, but they are proving that they can compete in football as well. It will be interesting to see how these teams fare as the season progresses.
