The Baylor Women’s Basketball team had a huge victory on Sunday, defeating the Oregon Ducks 71-51. The Lady Bears were led by junior guard DiDi Littlepage-Buggs, who scored 18 points in the win.
Littlepage-Buggs was a force to be reckoned with throughout the entire game, shooting 7-for-13 from the field and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. She also added four rebounds and two assists in the victory. Her 18 points were the most for any Baylor player in the game.
The Lady Bears had a balanced attack, with four other players scoring in double figures. Senior forward Lauren Cox had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Juicy Landrum added 13 points and four assists. Junior guard Moon Ursin had 11 points and three rebounds, and freshman forward NaLyssa Smith chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.
The Baylor defense was also impressive, holding Oregon to just 33 percent shooting from the field and 17 percent from beyond the arc. The Lady Bears also outrebounded the Ducks 41-33, allowing them to control the game from start to finish.
The win was a huge one for the Lady Bears, as it improved their record to 13-1 on the season. They have now won 12 straight games and are looking like one of the top teams in the country. With Littlepage-Buggs leading the way, Baylor looks poised to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this year.
