The Cleveland Browns and their fans were dealt a devastating blow when it was announced that star running back Nick Chubb would be undergoing surgery for a knee injury he sustained in the Browns vs. Steelers game on Sunday.
Chubb, who is in his third season with the Browns, was injured in the second quarter of the game when he was tackled by Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree. Chubb was able to walk off the field under his own power, but it was later revealed that he had suffered a sprained MCL and would require surgery.
The news of Chubb’s injury comes as a major blow to the Browns, who are already without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield due to a rib injury. Chubb has been one of the team’s most consistent performers this season, rushing for 803 yards and six touchdowns in just eight games. His absence will be felt throughout the Browns’ offense, as they will now have to rely more heavily on backup running back Kareem Hunt.
Chubb is expected to make a full recovery from his surgery and be ready to return to action for the 2021 season. However, his absence will be felt for the remainder of this season as the Browns look to make a playoff push.
It’s a difficult situation for both Chubb and the Browns, but hopefully he will make a full recovery and be back on the field soon.
