It is with great sadness that we report on the tragic news that NFL player Caleb Farley’s home was destroyed in a fatal gas explosion, killing his father.
Caleb Farley, a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. On Tuesday, June 15th, his family home was destroyed in a gas explosion that killed his father, William Farley.
The Roanoke Fire-EMS Department responded to the scene of the explosion at around 8:30 am. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house engulfed in flames and smoke. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and search the home for any survivors. Unfortunately, William Farley was found deceased in the home.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Roanoke Fire-EMS Chief David Hoback stated that the explosion appears to have been caused by a gas leak in the home.
Caleb Farley is currently in his second season with the Titans. He was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft and has since become an integral part of the Titans defense.
The Titans released a statement expressing their condolences to Caleb and his family. They also announced that they will be providing counseling services to Caleb and his family during this difficult time.
