The North Carolina State Wolfpack have announced the transfer of Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall to their football program. McCall, a redshirt sophomore, will join the Wolfpack for the 2021 season.
McCall is a dual-threat quarterback who has had success in the Sun Belt Conference. He was named the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2019 after leading the Chanticleers to a 10-2 record and a bowl game victory. He was also named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 after throwing for 3,039 yards and 28 touchdowns.
The Wolfpack are hoping that McCall can provide a spark to their offense. NC State has struggled on offense in recent years, ranking near the bottom of the ACC in both passing and rushing yards. With McCall at the helm, the Wolfpack are hoping to turn things around and become a more balanced team.
McCall is excited about joining the Wolfpack and is looking forward to competing for the starting job. He said, “I’m excited to join NC State and compete for the starting job. I’m confident that I can bring a lot to the table and help this team reach its goals.”
NC State head coach Dave Doeren is also excited about McCall joining the team. He said, “We are thrilled to welcome Grayson to our program. He is a talented quarterback who has had success at the collegiate level and we believe he can help us take our offense to the next level.”
NC State fans should be excited about the addition of McCall to their roster. He has proven himself as a successful quarterback at the collegiate level and should be able to provide a spark to the Wolfpack offense. With McCall at the helm, NC State could be poised for a successful 2021 season.
