Mississippi State University has recently appointed Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby as their new head coach. This news comes after the Bulldogs’ previous head coach, Joe Moorhead, was fired in January after two seasons with the team.
Lebby brings a wealth of experience to the table. He has been an offensive coordinator at Oklahoma since 2017 and has also worked as an assistant coach at Baylor and TCU. He is known for his innovative offensive schemes and his ability to develop quarterbacks. He has helped lead Oklahoma to two Big 12 championships and a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance in 2018.
Mississippi State is hoping that Lebby can bring the same success to their program. He inherits a team that finished 4-8 last season and has not won more than eight games since 2016. The Bulldogs have struggled to find consistency on offense in recent years, but Lebby is confident that he can turn things around.
In addition to his experience as an offensive coordinator, Lebby also brings a strong recruiting background to Mississippi State. He has recruited some of the top players in the country while at Oklahoma, including Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray and All-American receiver CeeDee Lamb.
