Michigan State University’s Husky football team will be welcoming back one of their own this Saturday. Germie Bernard, a wide receiver for the Huskies, is returning to his home state of Michigan after spending the past two years playing football in Florida.
Bernard, a native of Detroit, Michigan, was a standout wide receiver for the University of Florida Gators. During his time in Gainesville, he was a two-time All-SEC selection and was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2017. He also earned All-American honors in 2018 and was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver.
Now, Bernard is returning to Michigan State to finish his college career. He will be rejoining the Huskies for their upcoming game against the University of Michigan Wolverines. This will be Bernard’s first game back in his home state since leaving for Florida in 2017.
Bernard is expected to make an immediate impact on the Huskies’ offense. He is a big-play threat who can stretch the field and create mismatches with opposing defenses. His presence should open up the passing game and give quarterback Rocky Lombardi more options in the passing attack.
The Huskies are excited to have Bernard back in the fold and are looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field. With Bernard back in the lineup, the Huskies have a chance to make some noise in the Big Ten this season.
Germie Bernard’s return to Michigan State is sure to be an emotional one. He is coming back home to play in front of family and friends, and it will be a special moment for him and everyone involved. The Huskies are hoping that his return will spark their offense and help them make a run at the Big Ten title.
