On the ensuing possession, Patterson found Ronnie Bell for a 42-yard touchdown pass to give Michigan a 14-0 lead. The Wolverines defense then stepped up, as safety Brad Hawkins intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown to make it 21-0.

The second quarter saw Michigan continue to dominate, as they scored two more touchdowns to take a 35-3 lead into halftime. The Wolverines added another touchdown in the third quarter before Minnesota finally got on the board with a field goal. However, Michigan responded with two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

The Wolverines defense was the story of the game, as they forced four turnovers and held Minnesota to just 10 points. Linebacker Josh Uche had a big game, recording two sacks and an interception. Safety Brad Hawkins also had a great game, recording an interception and a pick-six.

The win was an impressive one for Michigan, as they extended their Big Ten winning streak to 17 games. The Wolverines will look to continue their success next week when they take on the Indiana Hoosiers. If they can get the win, they will tie the school record for consecutive Big Ten wins.
