Penix Jr. was a key factor in the Badgers’ success, throwing for 2,166 yards and 17 touchdowns while completing 66.7% of his passes. He also ran for 463 yards and five touchdowns.
Penix Jr. was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy alongside Daniels and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson University. While he didn’t win the award, he still had an impressive showing, finishing second in the voting.
