The Mead High School volleyball team had a season to remember, as they capped off their incredible run with a 3A State Championship. The team, led by head coach, Kristin Grosz, had an impressive season, finishing with a record of 22-2.
The championship game was a thrilling match that went the full five sets. Mead High School was able to come out on top, with a final score of 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, and 15-11. The team was led by senior captain, Katelyn Johnson, who had an impressive performance with 19 kills and 8 blocks.
The championship win was the first in school history for Mead High School and it was a momentous occasion for the entire school community. The team was met with a hero’s welcome when they returned to school the following day. The team was honored at a special assembly and presented with championship rings.
The success of the team was due in large part to the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches. Coach Grosz was especially proud of her team’s accomplishments and said, “I am so proud of this team and all that they have accomplished this season. They worked hard all year and it paid off with this amazing championship win.”
