On Tuesday, the Seattle Mariners welcomed back outfielder Taylor Trammell with a bang. After being placed on the 10-day injured list on April 22nd with a left hamstring strain, Trammell returned to the lineup with a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The grand slam was part of a six-run rally that gave the Mariners a 9-3 lead over the Texas Rangers. It was Trammell’s first home run of the season and his first career grand slam. He finished the game with two hits, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Trammell’s grand slam was a welcome sight for the Mariners, who had been struggling offensively since his injury. The team had scored just seven runs in the five games since he went on the injured list.
Trammell has been one of the bright spots for the Mariners this season. He is batting .269 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 18 games. He has also been a threat on the basepaths, stealing four bases in five attempts.
The Mariners are hoping that Trammell can continue to be a spark for their offense as they look to make a run at the playoffs. With his grand slam on Tuesday, Trammell showed that he is ready to help lead the team to success.
