The Seattle Mariners suffered a tough loss to the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, blowing a late lead and failing to score in the 10th inning.
The game was tied at four going into the ninth inning, but the Mariners took the lead in the top of the frame when Kyle Seager hit a two-run home run. However, the Nationals responded in the bottom of the inning, as Trea Turner hit a solo home run to tie the game at five.
The Mariners had a chance to win the game in the 10th inning, but they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. They loaded the bases with one out, but were unable to score a run as the Nationals got out of the jam with a double play.
In the bottom of the 10th inning, the Nationals took advantage of their second chance and scored the winning run on a walk-off single by Anthony Rendon.
The loss was a tough one for the Mariners, who had been playing well in recent weeks. They had won five of their last six games prior to Tuesday night’s loss.
The Mariners will look to bounce back from this loss when they face off against the Nationals again on Wednesday night. They will need to find a way to capitalize on their opportunities if they want to get back in the win column.
