On April 17th, 2020, the Seattle Storm selected Jordan Horston with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 WNBA Draft. Horston, a guard from Ohio State University, is the first Buckeye to be drafted by the Storm in franchise history.
Horston was a four-year starter for the Buckeyes, and was a key member of the 2019-2020 team that won the Big Ten regular season title and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. She was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team for her senior season, and was also named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
At Ohio State, Horston averaged 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game during her senior season. She also shot an impressive 37% from three-point range. Her ability to score from all three levels makes her a valuable asset for the Storm.
Horston brings a lot of experience to the Storm, having played in the NCAA Tournament four times and winning a Big Ten title. She is also a great leader and has been praised for her work ethic and leadership skills.
The Storm are hoping that Horston can help them make a deep playoff run this season. She will join a talented roster that includes Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, Jewell Loyd, and Natasha Howard. With Horston’s addition, the Storm have added another great player to their roster and are looking forward to seeing what she can do in the WNBA.
