It’s been a tough season for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. After suffering a season-ending knee injury in November, the former LSU star is now dealing with a calf strain that could keep him out of action for multiple weeks.
According to Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, Burrow suffered the calf strain during practice this week and is expected to miss multiple weeks due to the injury. Taylor said that the team is still evaluating the severity of the strain and will provide an update when they have more information.
Burrow has had a difficult rookie season in the NFL. After being selected first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, he was off to a great start, throwing for 2,688 yards and 13 touchdowns in 10 games. However, his season was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in November.
The Bengals have been struggling this season, with a 3-10-1 record. They are currently last in the AFC North and have already been eliminated from playoff contention. With Burrow out of action, the team will likely turn to veteran quarterback Brandon Allen to lead the offense.
It’s been a difficult season for Burrow and the Bengals, and this latest injury is just another setback. Hopefully Burrow will be able to recover quickly and get back on the field as soon as possible.
