After spending three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, tight end Jimmy Graham is returning to the New Orleans Saints, the team he spent five seasons with from 2010-2014. Graham believes he can still perform at a high level and is excited to be back in the Big Easy.
Graham was a force for the Saints during his first stint with the team, catching 386 passes for 4,752 yards and 51 touchdowns. He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times and earned All-Pro honors twice. After signing a four-year, $40 million contract with the Seahawks in 2015, Graham’s production dropped off significantly, but he still managed to haul in 57 receptions for 923 yards and six touchdowns in 2018.
The Saints are hoping that Graham can recapture some of his old form and provide a reliable target for quarterback Drew Brees. Brees and Graham have a long history together, and the two are looking forward to reuniting. Brees said, “I’m excited to have him back. We had a lot of success together in the past and I’m sure we can pick up where we left off.”
Graham is confident that he can still be an effective weapon in the Saints’ offense. He said, “I’m feeling great and I’m ready to get back to work. I know I can still be a big part of this team and I’m looking forward to helping us win games.”
The Saints are hoping that Graham’s return will give them a boost as they look to make another run at the Super Bowl. With Graham back in the fold, the Saints have one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL and should be a force to be reckoned with this season.
