Jewell Loyd put on an incredible performance in the Seattle Storm’s game against the Dallas Wings, scoring 33 points. Despite her stellar performance, the Storm were unable to overcome the Wings, ultimately losing the game by a score of 94-87.
Loyd was the star of the show for the Storm, shooting 11-20 from the field and 8-9 from the free throw line. She also added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals to her impressive stat line. Her 33 points were a season-high for her, and the most she has scored in a single game since 2017.
The rest of the Storm’s starters all had solid performances as well. Breanna Stewart scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Sue Bird added 14 points and five assists. However, it was not enough to make up for the Wings’ balanced attack.
The Wings had seven players score in double figures, led by Allisha Gray’s 22 points. Skylar Diggins-Smith added 17 points and seven assists, while Isabelle Harrison scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Wings also outrebounded the Storm 43-33, which proved to be a key factor in their victory.
Despite the loss, it was still an impressive performance by Loyd and the Storm. Loyd is having a great season so far, averaging 19.4 points per game, and her 33-point outburst against the Wings shows that she is capable of taking over games when needed. The Storm will look to bounce back from this loss when they take on the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday.
