The NBA season has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t mean that players have to stop practicing. Memphis Grizzlies’ star rookie Ja Morant has been granted permission to travel and practice with the team during the suspension.
Morant, the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, has been an instant success in the league. He’s averaging 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game and is a frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award.
The Grizzlies have granted Morant permission to travel to Memphis and practice with the team during the suspension. This is a great opportunity for Morant to continue developing his skills and build chemistry with his teammates. It’s also a great way for him to stay in shape and stay ready for when the season resumes.
The Grizzlies are currently sitting at the 8th seed in the Western Conference, and they’ll need Morant to be at his best if they want to make a playoff push. With the extra practice time, he should be able to sharpen his skills and help the team reach their goals.
It’s great to see that Morant is taking advantage of this opportunity to continue developing his game. He’s already shown that he can be a star in this league, and with extra practice time he could become an even bigger star. The Grizzlies are lucky to have him, and hopefully he can help them make a deep playoff run when the season resumes.
