The No. 2 Michigan Wolverines had a dominant performance against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, winning 45-7. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy had a standout game, throwing for three touchdowns and leading the Wolverines to victory.
McCarthy was on fire from the start, throwing a touchdown pass to Cornelius Johnson on the first drive of the game. He then connected with Giles Jackson for a second touchdown in the second quarter, and found Mike Sainristil for a third touchdown in the third quarter. McCarthy finished the day with 211 passing yards and three touchdowns, completing 16 of his 23 passes.
The Wolverines’ defense also had a strong performance, holding the Cornhuskers to just seven points. The defense forced two turnovers and had four sacks, with Aidan Hutchinson leading the way with two sacks.
The win was an impressive one for the Wolverines, who improved to 3-0 on the season.
