The Seattle Mariners have been a part of Major League Baseball since 1977, and they have had some of the greatest players in the game’s history. From Ken Griffey Jr. to Ichiro Suzuki, the Mariners have had some of the most talented players in the league. Recently, the Mariners held an All-Star event where some of their current and former All-Stars discussed their knowledge of Seattle and the team.
The event was hosted by former Mariners pitcher and current broadcaster, Mike Blowers. He was joined by former All-Stars Edgar Martinez, Jay Buhner, and Dan Wilson. They discussed their experiences playing in Seattle and the city’s unique culture. They talked about the great fans that come out to support the team and how they appreciate the team’s commitment to winning.
The players also discussed their favorite memories from playing in Seattle. Edgar Martinez talked about his time with the team and how he was able to help the team win its first division title in 1995. Jay Buhner talked about his time with the team and how he was able to help them win their first American League Championship Series in 1995. Dan Wilson discussed his time with the team and how he was able to help them win their first World Series in 2001.
The players also discussed their favorite places to eat in Seattle. Edgar Martinez talked about his favorite restaurant, The Crab Pot, while Jay Buhner talked about his favorite sushi spot, Umi Sake House. Dan Wilson discussed his favorite place to get a burger, Dick’s Drive-In.
It was a great event to hear these All-Stars talk about their experiences in Seattle and their knowledge of the city and the team. It was also a great opportunity for fans to get a glimpse into the lives of some of the greatest players in Mariners history.
