The University of Georgia Bulldogs have done it again! For the 22nd consecutive week, the Bulldogs have been ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. This marks the longest streak of consecutive weeks at No. 1 in the poll since the AP began its rankings in 1936.
The Bulldogs have been at the top of the poll since November of 2019, and their streak has been impressive. They have not only held onto their No. 1 ranking, but they have also been able to maintain a comfortable lead over the rest of the top teams in the nation.
This week, two new teams have entered the top 10 of the AP Top 25 Poll. Louisville and Oregon State both made their way into the top 10 for the first time this season. Louisville jumped up five spots to No. 8, while Oregon State made a huge leap from No. 24 to No. 9.
Louisville’s rise to the top is especially impressive, as they had been unranked just two weeks ago. The Cardinals have been on a roll lately, winning five straight games and climbing up the rankings. They are now in contention for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Oregon State has also been impressive, winning four of their last five games and climbing up the rankings. The Beavers are now in contention for a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
The Bulldogs’ streak at No. 1 is remarkable, and it shows just how dominant they have been this season. It will be interesting to see if they can keep their streak going and remain at the top of the AP Top 25 Poll for another week. Meanwhile, Louisville and Oregon State have both made impressive climbs up the rankings and will be looking to make even more noise in the coming weeks.
