The Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers have made moves to bolster their rosters, signing veteran defenseman Marc Staal and forward Max Domi to one-year deals.
Staal, 34, has spent his entire 13-year NHL career with the New York Rangers, where he served as an alternate captain for the past three seasons. He is a two-time All-Star and has won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 2014. Staal has played in 892 career NHL games, recording 63 goals and 225 assists. He is known for his defensive play and physicality, and will be a valuable addition to the Flyers’ blue line.
Domi, 25, was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens in 2018 in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes. He had a breakout season in 2018-19, scoring 28 goals and 44 assists in 82 games. Last season, Domi had 15 goals and 34 assists in 71 games with the Canadiens. He is known for his offensive prowess and playmaking ability, and will be a great addition to the Maple Leafs’ forward group.
Both Staal and Domi are expected to make an immediate impact on their respective teams. Staal will bring experience and leadership to the Flyers’ defense, while Domi will add scoring depth to the Maple Leafs’ offense. With these signings, both teams have taken steps to improve their rosters for the upcoming season.
