It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Doug McArthur, a beloved Puget Sound sports legend. McArthur, who was 94 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22nd.
McArthur was born in Seattle in 1925 and was a lifelong resident of the Puget Sound area. He was an avid sports fan and played a variety of sports throughout his life. He was a star basketball player at Seattle’s Franklin High School and went on to play for the University of Washington Huskies. He was also an avid golfer and tennis player.
McArthur’s love of sports extended beyond his own personal accomplishments. He was a passionate supporter of local teams and athletes, often attending games and cheering them on. He was a fixture at Seattle Mariners games and was known for his enthusiasm and loyalty to the team.
McArthur was also an active member of the community, often volunteering his time to help out at local events. He was a beloved figure in the Puget Sound area and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
McArthur’s passing is a great loss to the Puget Sound sports community. He was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
