Deshaun Watson Out for Remainder of Season with Shoulder Fracture

NFL Seattle

It’s a heartbreaking day for football fans everywhere, as it was recently announced that Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will be out for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder fracture. The injury occurred during the Texans’ game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, November 1st.

The 24-year-old Watson has been a bright spot for the Texans this season, leading the team to a 4-3 record and throwing for 1,699 yards and 14 touchdowns in seven games. He had been playing at an elite level, and his absence is sure to be felt by the Texans and their fans.

Watson underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed the fracture. He will be placed on injured reserve and is expected to make a full recovery in time for next season. It’s a tough blow for Watson, who has been one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league since entering the NFL in 2017.

The Texans will now turn to backup quarterback A.J. McCarron to lead the team for the remainder of the season. McCarron has only thrown two passes this season, and it’s unclear how he will fare in a starting role.

The Texans are currently tied for first place in the AFC South, and they’ll need to find a way to stay competitive without their star quarterback. It won’t be easy, but with a strong defense and a talented group of skill position players, they still have a chance to make a run at the playoffs.

It’s a sad day for football fans everywhere, as we won’t get to see Deshaun Watson play this season. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the field in 2021.
