Corbin Carroll, the Seattle Mariners’ first round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, is quickly becoming a star in Major League Baseball. The 21-year-old outfielder has been making waves since his debut with the Mariners in 2020.
Carroll was born and raised in Seattle and attended Lakeside High School, where he was a four-year letterman in baseball. He was named the Gatorade Washington Baseball Player of the Year in 2018 and was a two-time All-State selection. He then went on to play college baseball at the University of Arizona, where he was named to the All-Pac-12 team in 2019.
The Mariners selected Carroll with the 16th overall pick in the 2019 draft, and he quickly made an impact in the minor leagues. He was named the Mariners’ Minor League Player of the Year in 2020 after hitting .312 with 10 home runs and 33 stolen bases in just 66 games.
Carroll made his major league debut on August 4th, 2020, and has been a regular starter ever since. He is currently batting .270 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in just over 200 at-bats. He has also shown off his speed on the base paths, stealing nine bases in just 11 attempts.
Carroll has quickly become a fan favorite in Seattle, and his future looks bright.
