The Colorado Buffaloes made a statement on Saturday night, defeating the No. 15 Miami Hurricanes 90-63 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Buffaloes were led by Tristan da Silva, who scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
The Buffaloes came out of the gates hot, taking a 10-point lead into halftime. They continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring Miami by 18 points in the second half. The Buffaloes shot a blistering 54.5% from the field and held the Hurricanes to just 37.7%.
Da Silva was the star of the show, leading the Buffaloes in scoring and rebounding. He was efficient from the field, shooting 8-of-14 and 4-of-7 from three-point range. He also added three assists and two steals in the win.
The Buffaloes had four other players score in double figures, including Tyler Bey (15 points), McKinley Wright IV (14 points), D’Shawn Schwartz (13 points) and Evan Battey (11 points). The Buffaloes also had a strong performance from their bench, with Daylen Kountz and Lucas Siewert combining for 15 points off the bench.
The win was a big one for the Buffaloes, as they improved to 8-2 on the season and handed Miami its first loss of the season. The Buffaloes will look to keep up their strong play as they head into conference play. With da Silva leading the way, they have a chance to make some noise in the Pac-12 this season.
