The Seattle Mariners have recently made a big move in their minor league system, promoting two of their top prospects, Cole Young and Gabriel Gonzalez, to their Everett affiliate. This is a major step for both players, as it puts them one step closer to the big leagues.

Cole Young, a right-handed pitcher, was drafted by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB Draft. He has been impressive in his first two professional seasons, posting a combined 2.90 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 54 innings of work. Young has been especially dominant this season, with a 1.50 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 12 innings of work.

Gabriel Gonzalez, an outfielder, was signed by the Mariners as an international free agent in 2017. He has been a consistent performer in the minors, batting .292 with a .788 OPS in his first three professional seasons. This season, Gonzalez is off to a hot start, batting .333 with a .913 OPS in 11 games.

The promotion of these two players is a great sign for the Mariners organization. Young and Gonzalez are two of the team’s top prospects and could be key contributors to the team’s future success. It will be exciting to see how they fare at the next level and if they can continue to develop into major league caliber players.
