The Boston Celtics have done it again. On Tuesday night, they defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 140-99 in a dominant victory. Led by the impressive performances of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics were able to pull away in the second half and secure the win.
Tatum was the star of the night, scoring a career-high 41 points on an efficient 15-of-21 shooting from the field. He also added nine rebounds and five assists in the victory. Brown was also impressive, finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. The duo combined for 65 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists.
The Celtics were able to take control of the game in the second half, outscoring the Bucks by 20 points in the third quarter. They shot a blistering 57.1% from the field and 45.5% from three-point range in the second half. The Bucks were unable to keep up with Boston’s offensive onslaught, shooting just 36.4% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range in the second half.
The Celtics’ defense was also impressive, holding the Bucks to just 99 points on 37.2% shooting from the field and 25.9% from three-point range. The Celtics forced 16 turnovers and held Giannis Antetokounmpo to just 14 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the field.
The Celtics’ victory was a team effort, as seven players scored in double figures. Kemba Walker had 17 points, Marcus Smart had 15 points, Gordon Hayward had 13 points, Daniel Theis had 12 points, and Enes Kanter had 10 points.
The Celtics have now won six of their last seven games and are currently in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. With Tatum and Brown leading the way, they look poised to make a deep run in the playoffs this season.
