The Milwaukee Brewers had a thrilling victory over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night, winning 4-3. The game was highlighted by the exceptional debut performance of Brewers rookie outfielder, Gavin Frelick.
Frelick, who was called up from the minors earlier in the week, stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied 3-3. He quickly made his presence known by crushing a solo home run to right field, giving the Brewers the lead. It was the first hit of Frelick’s major league career and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
The Braves had taken an early lead in the game, scoring two runs in the first inning. However, the Brewers rallied back in the fourth inning with a two-run homer from Ryan Braun. The Braves tied it up in the sixth inning, but Frelick’s heroics in the ninth sealed the victory for Milwaukee.
Frelick’s performance was truly remarkable. He went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in his debut game. His performance was praised by Brewers manager Craig Counsell, who said “Gavin really stepped up and delivered for us tonight. He showed us why we called him up and he’s going to be a great addition to this team.”
The Brewers will look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Braves again on Thursday night. With Frelick now in the lineup, they have a great chance to extend their winning streak.
