On August 18th, the New York Liberty and Seattle Storm faced off in a thrilling game that ended with the Liberty coming out on top. The Liberty were led by Breanna Stewart, who had an incredible performance, scoring 24 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out four assists.
Stewart was the star of the game, as she was able to take over in the fourth quarter. She scored eight points in the final period, including a clutch three-pointer with just over a minute left to put the Liberty up by four. She also made a key defensive stop late in the game to help seal the victory.
The Liberty had a balanced attack, with five players scoring in double figures. Tina Charles had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Amanda Zahui B added 14 points and seven rebounds. Kia Nurse and Asia Durr each scored 11 points, and Bria Hartley chipped in with 10.
The Liberty’s victory was a team effort, but it was Stewart who stepped up when it mattered most. She was able to take over the game in the fourth quarter and lead her team to a much-needed win. This is just another example of why Stewart is one of the best players in the WNBA and why the Liberty are so lucky to have her on their team.
