Bradley Beal, the star shooting guard for the Washington Wizards, is expected to miss the next two weeks with a sprained right ankle. Beal suffered the injury during a game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night.
The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the game when Beal stepped on the foot of Bulls guard Kris Dunn while driving to the basket. Beal immediately limped off the court and was later diagnosed with a sprained ankle.
Beal has been one of the most consistent players for the Wizards this season, averaging 25.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. His absence will be a huge blow to the team, as they are currently in the middle of a tight race for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Wizards have already been without All-Star point guard John Wall for most of the season due to a heel injury. With Beal now out for two weeks, it will be up to other players on the roster to step up and fill the void left by his absence.
The Wizards will be hoping that Beal’s injury is not too serious and that he can return to action soon. In the meantime, they will have to rely on their other players to keep them in contention for a playoff spot.
