It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of legendary Indiana basketball coach Bob Knight. Knight, who was 83 years old, passed away on Sunday, April 11th, 2021.
Knight was an iconic figure in the world of college basketball. He was the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers from 1971 to 2000 and led them to three NCAA championships. During his tenure, he also won 11 Big Ten titles and was named National Coach of the Year four times. Knight was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991.
Knight was known for his no-nonsense approach to coaching and his intense dedication to the game. He was a master tactician and a passionate teacher who inspired generations of players and coaches. He was also known for his fiery temper and his willingness to speak his mind.
