Bob Knight, the legendary former Indiana University basketball coach, is currently experiencing an undisclosed health issue. Knight, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time, has not revealed any details about his current health condition.
Knight was the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers from 1971 to 2000, leading the team to three NCAA championships and 11 Big Ten titles. He is also the all-time leader in wins among Division I men’s basketball coaches, with 902 victories. Knight was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1991.
Although Knight has not revealed any details about his health issue, he has been seen in public looking frail and weak. He was recently spotted at a restaurant near his home in Bloomington, Indiana, looking much thinner than usual.
Knight’s former players have expressed their concern for their former coach. Former Indiana guard and NBA star Calbert Cheaney said, “I’m praying for Coach Knight and his family. He’s been such an important part of my life and so many other people’s lives. We all want him to be healthy and happy.”
Knight’s former assistant coach, Dan Dakich, also expressed his concern for his former mentor. “He’s a great man and he’s been through a lot,” Dakich said. “I’m just hoping he can get through this and come out on the other side healthy and strong.”
At this time, it is unclear what Knight’s health issue is or how long it will last. However, it is clear that the basketball community is wishing him a speedy recovery.
