Alex Palou has done it again. The Spanish driver secured his third consecutive IndyCar victory at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday, August 9th. This marks the first time a driver has won three consecutive IndyCar races since Scott Dixon achieved the feat in 2018.
Palou started the race in second place and quickly made his way to the front of the pack. He was able to take the lead on lap 33 and never looked back, leading the rest of the way. He was able to keep his lead despite several restarts and a late-race caution flag.
The victory was especially impressive considering Palou had to battle through a field of experienced drivers, including Scott Dixon, Will Power, and Josef Newgarden. Palou was able to outrace them all and take the checkered flag for his third consecutive win.
The win also solidifies Palou’s place as one of the top drivers in IndyCar. He is now tied for second place in the championship standings with Dixon, and is only four points behind leader Newgarden. Palou is now in prime position to challenge for the championship title this season.
