It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of former Seattle Seahawks running back Alex Collins. Collins, 28, was found dead in his home on Thursday, April 8th.
Collins was a standout player during his time with the Seahawks, playing in all 16 games during the 2017 season and rushing for a total of 913 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was a fan favorite in Seattle, and his energy and enthusiasm on the field were infectious.
Collins was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2016, but was released in 2017 after being arrested for possession of marijuana. He then signed with the Seahawks, and although he was not able to match his 2017 performance, he still managed to make an impact on the team.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, but Collins’ family has released a statement saying that they are “devastated by the sudden loss of our beloved Alex.” They have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
The Seahawks organization has also released a statement expressing their condolences to Collins’ family and friends. They said that Collins was “a valued member of our team” and that they will “always remember his spirit and enthusiasm.”
The death of Alex Collins is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. He will be remembered for his passion for the game and his infectious energy on the field. Rest in peace, Alex.
