Adam Jones, a former NFL player, recently pleaded guilty to obstruction of official business following an incident at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Jones was arrested in July of 2018 after an altercation with an airport employee.
The incident began when Jones became angry after being told he could not board his flight without a valid ID. He then allegedly pushed the employee and made threats. Jones was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business.
Jones pleaded guilty to the obstruction charge and was sentenced to two days in jail. He was also ordered to pay a $250 fine and complete 50 hours of community service.
This is not the first time Jones has been in trouble with the law. In 2017, he was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was also arrested in 2011 for assault and disorderly conduct.
Jones has had a long career in the NFL, playing for the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, and Cincinnati Bengals. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2006 and 2007 and was named to the All-Pro team in 2007.
The incident at the airport is yet another example of how quickly a situation can escalate when someone is not following the rules. Jones’ actions were unacceptable and he is now paying the consequences for his actions. Hopefully, this incident will serve as a reminder to others to follow the rules and respect authority.
