Aaron Rodgers Aiming for Mid-December Return from Torn Achilles Tendon: NBC Interview

NFL Seattle

The Green Bay Packers and their fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has been sidelined since suffering a torn Achilles tendon in Week 6 of the 2020 NFL season. On Monday, Rodgers gave an interview to NBC Sports in which he revealed that he is aiming for a mid-December return.

Rodgers, who is a two-time MVP and six-time Pro Bowler, has been working hard to get back on the field as soon as possible. He said that he was initially told that he would need four to six months to recover from the injury, but he has been pushing himself to get back sooner.

“I’m doing everything I can to get back on the field as soon as possible,” Rodgers said. “I’m pushing myself hard in rehab and I’m confident that I’ll be able to return in mid-December.”

The Packers have been doing well without Rodgers, currently sitting at 8-3 and in first place in the NFC North. However, the team is hoping that Rodgers will be able to return soon and help them make a deep playoff run.

“We’re all excited to have Aaron back,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said. “He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league and we know he’ll be able to help us make a strong push for the playoffs.”

The Packers have a few tough games coming up, including a showdown with the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. It remains to be seen if Rodgers will be able to return in time for that game, but it’s clear that he is doing everything he can to get back on the field as soon as possible.
