The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team continued their impressive start to the Pac-12 season with a dominant victory over Washington State on Saturday night. The Ducks used a barrage of three-pointers to defeat the Cougars, 81-64, and improve to 4-0 in conference play.
Oregon was led by senior guard Payton Pritchard, who had a game-high 24 points and seven assists. Pritchard was especially effective from beyond the arc, making six of his nine three-point attempts. He was joined by freshman guard Will Richardson, who added 19 points and four three-pointers.
The Ducks’ 14 three-pointers were a season-high, and they shot an impressive 47.1 percent from beyond the arc. Oregon also dominated the glass, outrebounding Washington State 37-21. The Ducks’ defense was also impressive, holding the Cougars to just 36.2 percent shooting from the field.
The win was Oregon’s fourth straight in Pac-12 play, and it improved their overall record to 15-4. With the victory, the Ducks remain atop the Pac-12 standings and are now tied for first place with Arizona State.
Oregon’s next game is against rival Oregon State on Thursday night. The Ducks will look to continue their impressive start to the Pac-12 season and extend their winning streak to five games. If they can do that, they will be in prime position to make a run at the Pac-12 title.
